They were being returning to Shreveport from a small duck searching lake in close proximity to Lake Charles, Louisiana, inside a Grumman Mallard plane without deicing process. The wings iced up on approach to landing in Shreveport, and also the airplane misplaced altitude. Among the wings hit cypress stumps plus the plane crashed towards the shore.
